Early 70s New York saw the growth of a new phenomenon. Graffiti is the greatest and most influential artistic movement of our time. It was created by kids, for kids. In Classic Hits, the key persons and pioneers tell their own story. Classic Hits is an eye- opening first-hand story told in unique pictures and text.
From Taki 183 to Blade to Iz the Wiz. Their names have garnered star status far beyond graffiti culture, and without them, no Seen, no Banksy, no Revok. In Classic Hits, the pioneers talk about how they got started and where graffiti took them. Together, the essays offer an invaluable picture of graffiti in the early, playful years.
Author Alan Fleisher started writing graffiti in the Bronx in 1972. Un- like most, he always carried his camera with him. Through his many adventures in the subway depots, he got to know several of the greatest writers of New York. His experiences give Classic Hits a unique insider view. I’m happy to announce that I will present my book in Amsterdam.

Here we go, my book is out.
People Think I’m Cool will be for the first time presented in Milan, do not miss the appointment I would appreciate.

The presentation and book signing will be Saturday June 18 from 17:00 to 20:00 at the Stussy store in Milan, Corso di Porta Ticinese, 103.

Here we go, my first monograph is now born!
People Think I’m Cool has just been made, and it will be available from autumn of this year worldwide, probably even earlier in other circuits, I will keep you informed, or I could hand over a copy under the table if you ask me.
Anyway, what is this book about? It is about me, about my artistic work from my early stuff until now, there are autobiographical stories, recipes, thoughts and so on.
Here’s the back cover words:

“When I decided to make this book, I looked back and thought about the path that brought me to be who I am today. The path was full of mistakes and dead ends, I believe errors are the base of what we become, failures are more formative than success and definitely funnier.”

There will be the first presentation of the book in Milan on the 18th of June, I’ll let you know more when it’s time, now you can book your ticket.
